Six weeks of basketball training between practices.
A YP basketball plan is built around one athlete — their age, goal, schedule, and what’s available at home. Using the R3™ Method, six weeks of short sessions connect mobility, control, and ball skills into one progression instead of a feed of random drills.
The R3™ arc for Basketball.
Release
Reduce restrictions that limit movement — hips, ankles, and posture for a better athletic base.
Restore
Rebuild control and rhythm: balance, deceleration, footwork, and landing mechanics.
Re-engineer
Connect the work back to basketball — first-step quickness, change of direction, and handle under control.
What a basketball plan trains.
- first-step speed + change of direction
- ball handling with controlled at-home reps
- footwork, balance, and landing control
- consistency between team practices
Most sessions need only a small space and a ball. NeoBall by YP is designed for quieter indoor skill work when a full court isn’t available.
Basketball plan questions.
How many days a week does a basketball plan take?
Plans are built around your schedule — most athletes train 2–5 short sessions a week between team practices, each around 15–45 minutes.
Does my athlete need a hoop at home?
No. Plans adapt to your equipment. Ball-handling, movement, and control work can be done in small spaces; hoop sessions are added only if you have access.
What ages do basketball plans cover?
YP builds plans for athletes from age 8 through 18+, with age-appropriate session design at every level.
